Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III will be the Guest of Honour and Commencement Speaker in the 2019 Graduation Ceremonies of the University of Southern Mindanao on June 8.
The Senate President, whom I have known and befriended since the days when he was Vice Mayor of Quezon City, graciously accepted the invitation extended by USM President Francisco Gil Garcia and Graduation Ceremonies Chairman Dr. Palasig Ampang which I personally conveyed to him.
The graduation ceremonies will start as early as 5 a.m., according to Dr. Ampang.
The USM, an agricultural state university founded by Bai Matabai Plang as Mindanao Institute of Technology, is the biggest state agricultural institution in the Southern Philippines.
I will be joining the Graduation Ceremonies to receive my doctorate degree in Rural Development which I earned 10 years after I started working for it.
It was also in USM where I earned my Bachelors Degree in Development Communications under the Expanded Tertiary Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEAP) of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and my Master’s Degree in Rural Economic Development.
