ZAMBO CITY RICE PRICES
DROP BY OVER P10/ KILO

As Metro Manila welcomes the implementation of the Suggested Retail Price for rice on Saturday, residents of Zamboanga City are relieved that rice prices have dropped by over P10 per kilo since a month ago.
In a surprise visit I made in the Central public market of Zamboanga City today, I was pleased to see sufficient supply of NFA rice sold at P32 per kilo.
Commercial rice prices ranged from P44 for well-milled to P54 for premium rice.
These prices are a far cry from what I saw over a month ago when rice was sold for as high as P70 per kilo.
Next week, the prices are expected to drop further as the National Food Authority sets the SRP for the regions and provinces of the country.
