Last Sunday, I was Guest of Honor and Speaker in the Chartering Ceremonies of the Metro Valencia Eagles Chapter of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Valencia City, Bukidnon.
During my speech, I shared with members of the Philippine Eagles the story of the baby eagle who fell from the nest atop a tall Lawaan tree and found himself in the company of backyard chicken.
As he grew up, he thought he was just another chicken and seeing the Eagles soaring high in the sky, wished that he too could fly like the eagles.
I compared that story to what is happening in our country which has all the potentials to become a major food producer.
Like the baby eagle, we envy the progress of our neighbors not realizing that we have all the potentials to fly and soar even higher than them because of our vast resources.
I hope this story would awaken us.
The Philippines could be a great country if only we become aware of our rich resources.
