This morning, I stood by the window of my hotel room along Roxas Blvd. in Manila and saw this beautiful morning view of the Manila Bay Yatch Club.
As a young journalist many years ago, I interviewed many colorful and interesting personalities in the Yatch Club.
These great men and women, many of them now gone from this world, helped open the doors of opportunities in my life.
These doors which they opened led me to be be where I am right now and made me what I am right now.
The great thoughts which they shared with me in those enlightening interviews gave me a more profound understanding and appreciation of the problems and realiities that mankind face.
My concern in uplifting the lives of the poor and giving them the opportunity to have a better life grew out of the realization of the inequities in the world we live in.
Today, as I stood gazing at the serene waters of Manila Bay, I murmured a “Thank You” to all these people who were the grindstones in my life who sharpened my thoughts.
You my dear friends, have you even tried to remember the people who helped you to be where you are now and to be what you are now?
Have you said “Thank You” to them or even remembered them?
A minute of prayer for them and a whisper of “Thank You” will not take much of your time.
Do it! Believe me it will make you feel really good.
