We have always been made to believe that Garlic could only be grown to a few areas of the country, mainly the hot areas like Central Luzon, Northern Luzon and Mindoro.
I would like to break this myth and I am asking followers of this page to help me do it by planting Garlic in the vacant areas of your farms or even the backyards and pots.
Here is a link which I found early this morning which teaches us how to plant and harvest Garlic step by step.
Why don’t we try this?
Buy a few cloves and plant your garlic following the instructions from the link I am sharing with you (http://www.wikihow.com/Grow-Garlic).
If you are successful, please give me a feedback so I could instruct our Agriculture officials in your areas to assist you expand your planting areas.
The DA could also provide you loans to start up your own Garlic farms of up to P25,000 per hectare.
The Agriculture Department will also make sure that we will establish post-harvest facilities like a cold storage to support you.
Together, I believe we can dismantle the Garlic Cartel which has been sucking the hard-earned money of Filipino consumers by controlling the supply and manipulating the prices of Garlic in the market.
Let us all contribute to the National Garlic Development Program and produce enough of the product to supply our national requirements.
This will not only save our precious dollars but also offer an additional income opportunity.
Let’s Plant for Progress.
Together and united, we will prevail.
