A retired officer of the United States Navy whose family now operates several Homes for the Aged in California has come home to his birthplace of Loon, Bohol to start Bangus fish cage farming.
Samson Mante and his wife, Julie, decided to get into fish cage farming in his home province to help solve the problem of very expensive fish in an Island Province surrounded by the sea.
“If we could help in bringing down the price of fish in Bohol, we are willing to put our hard-earned money in fish cage farming in our hometown,” Sam Mante said.
It was I who actually convinced Sam, a brother Mason, to take a look at fish cage farming in his hometown since Loon is an ideal location as its bay is protected by several islands.
It was an idea which Sam immediately embraced.
On Sunday, May 21, a team which I organized will visit Loon to conduct an initial assessment of the area to find the best location.
With me in the team are Jonathan Cabasa, Vice President of Inca Mariculture Plastics which designs and fabricates floating and submersible fish cages, the Inca Mariculture Technical Team which will conduct site inspection and Aquaculture Expert Rocky French, also a Fil-Am like Sam.
Încă Mariculture îs offering a Lease-to-Own Program for the fish cages to Sam Mante and other investors like him who would like to venture into Aquaculture Production.
Hopefully, Sam Mante’s project will spark an interest among other Boholano expatriates to come home and invest in fish cage farming in their home province to save the Boholano’s from the problem of expensive fish in the. market.
