Reason To Be Happy! SAAVI Kidapawan Hatchery Breeds 1st Tilapia Hybri

The Multi-Species Hatchery established by our young agri company, the Southseas Agri-Aqua Ventures, Inc., has succeeded in developing our first Hybrid Tilapia.
Bred by Fil-Am farmer-scientist Rocky French, we have tentatively given the new Hybrid the code name: SAAVI PML71-A.
This is a cross of Tilapia families taken from the hatcheries of former Sec. Mike Sueno and the BFAR.
The hatchery is now ready to commercially sell fingerlings Size 17 which is bigger fingerlings with higher survival.
Initially, the hatchery could release at least 10,000 fingerlings per week or 40,000 per month.
This number will increase as more breeders reach maturity and productivity.
The original plan of importing the coveted breeder Hornurom remains the goal the hatchery and maybe realized as our finances stabilize by the second quarter of 2024.
