2 HURT IN NORTH COTABATO SHOOTINGS

COTABATO CITY – Two people were wounded in separate shooting incidents in North Cotabato on Wednesday.

A certain Oliver Yacap was wounded after he was shot by unidentified gunmen at around 1:00 p.m. along Notre Dame Drive in Pikit, North Cotabato.

Pikit police said Yacap was on board his motorcycle when he was shot by the suspects who were also riding a motorcycle.

The assailants attempted to take the victim’s vehicle but some policemen near the area were able to respond.

A cop managed to shoot one of the suspects, forcing the attackers to just leave the victim’s motorcycle and flee towards Barangay Gli-gli.

Yacap, who sustained a gunshot wound on his shoulder, was immediately brought to the hospital for treatment.

In Midsayap town, 50-year-old Julieta Faunillan Untal is now in critical condition after she was shot by motorcycle-riding suspects at around 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday in Barangay Villarica.

Midsayap police said the victim was shot thrice after she alighted from a tricycle. Two of the bullets hit her stomach.

Investigations are underway to determine the perpetrators in the two shooting incidents.
