Alert policemen led by police Chief Inspector Bernabe Rubio of Bialong, M’lang inflicted heavy casualties on attacking communist rebels who attempted to raid the police station of President Roxas at dawn today.
Updates coming from the Office of M’lang Mayor Lito Pinol said three bodies of the NPA rebels were left behind by their comrades near the police station while another wounded NPA cadre was brought to a government hospital.
One of the trucks used in attacking the police station was abandoned by the retreating rebels.
Chief Insp. Rubio who led his men in fighting off the rebels was slightly wounded in the attack.
The rebels came in two trucks at about 3 a.m. today and attempted to raid the Pres. Roxas police station.
Alert policemen under CInsp. Rubio, however, spotted them and assumed defensive positions engaging the rebels in a 30-minute gunfight.
The rebels retreated after suffering heavy casulaties.
