The extension of the northern portion of the existing runway of the M’lang Airport, also known as the Central Mindanao Airport, has started with clearing operations and land-filling.
The existing runway is also being widened.
The extension of the runway is part of the works being undertaken so that the 1.2-km existing runway will become longer and wider and accomodate Airbus-type aircraft when the airport opens by 2015.
Project analyst Cdee Pagdato sent additional pictures of the work being undertaken by contract Vicente T. Lao of Davao City and I am sharing these pictures with you.
