The Mount Apo climb which I made from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1 was undoubtedly the most difficult of all of my 16 ascents to the country’s hghest mountain.
At 68, I felt that the legs were not as dexterous as when I made by 15th climb in 2018.
Coming down, the spring and bounce of the knees were obviously lacking making it painful.
But why do people have to go through the hardship of scaling heights, catching breath and suffering sore leg muscles?
Mountain climbing is really senseless if you do not understand the meaning of reaching the top and looking down at the vast expanse.
The mere thought that I am one of the few mortals who could climb that height at my age, unassisted, gives me a feeling of fulfillment.
After all, how many could actually scale the mountains?
Maybe, I could make two or four more climbs before the legs would finally give way.
Here are some of the video documentaries which were taken by a small media team which joined.
