The concern on the environmental impact of the Tampakan Open Pit Mining is an issue that trancends political boundaries and must not be decided by one provincce alone.
Every resident of Central Mindanao, including the Davao Region should demand for a deeper environmental study on the impact of this Open Pit Mining Project on the flora, fauna and people in the downstream of this 10,000-hectare mining operatioon.
No amount of money, even billions of pesos in government revenues, could justify the rush and reckless decision to allow the operation of this dangerous project.
