My dear brothers,
I am now on my way to Imus, Cavite for the Proclamation Rally of the Presidential, Vice Presidential and Senatorial candidates of our party.
Naisip ko lang ang deeper meaning of this event in our lives, children raised in poverty and hard life.
Two generations ago, our Lolo Jose left Iloilo to work as a Sacada in Upi, Cotabato.
About 80 years ago, Tatay Narding received his elementary school diploma barefoot.
Half a century ago, we worked in the farm on Saturdays, Sundays and Summers so that we could buy a pair of Maong pants for the next opening of classes.
There were times when we had to skip lunch while in college.
But here we are now, 11 brothers who are all professionals – a police officer, a Governor, a Congressman, 3 mayors, councilors and a Cabinet Secretary who is now a candidate for Senator.
I would not say we were raised in a perfect environment but the love that our parents and relatives showered on us and our love and respect for each other were what made us what we are.
Whether I would win or lose in the Senate elections hardly matters in our family’s story of emancipation from hunger and poverty.
I thank you all my dear brothers for your prayers and support.
I also pray that we raise our children the same way Tatay and Nanay raised us (minus Tatay’s belt, hopefully) because what they did made us who we are today.
Lastly, let us thank the Lord Almighty for His Love, Guidance and Protection.
I love you all.
