Ampatuan, Maguindanao – The Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA), a small agency of government which covers Mindanao, should be strengthened and give bigger funding to assist the young autonomous government in the Bangsamoro Region.
Presidential Candidate Panfilo Lacson issued this statement today in response to a question raised during an open forum.
A Maguindanao leader asked what support would President Lacson give the Autonomous Region to sustain its development and peace gains.
MinDA, which I headed as Chairman and Presidential Point Person for BARMM, has an existing cooperation agreement with the BARMM Government.
“We must nurture the peace gains in Mindanao and BARMM must succeed,” Lacson said.
The Party, composed of Sen. Lacson, senatorial candidate Dr. Minguita Padilla and myself, held the Town Hall meeting with residents and local officials of Ampatuan.
