At 4 p.m. today in Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija, Presidential Candidate Panfilo Lacson and Vice Presidential Candidate Vicente Sotto III will appear in a forum and answer questions to be fielded by farmers who organized the event.
This will mark the first time in this political campaign when candidates will not deliver long speeches or dance and sing on stage.
Outstanding rice farmer Danilo Bolos, convenor of the event said he sent out invitations to other candidates but only the Lacson-Sotto team responded.
“Dapat matigil na ang mga sayawan at kantahan ng mga kandidato at sagutin nila ang aming mga katanungan,” Bolos said.
Farmers representing the different sectors will be given the opportunity to ask questions.
Among the expected issues to be raised are the Rice Tariffication Law, high fertilizer prices, agricultural smuggling and massive agricultural importation.
Sta. Rosa Mayor Josefino Angeles will deliver a welcome address before the start of the forum.
