Leaders of farmer and fisherfolk groups and local farm technicians of Bataan Province yesterday pledged their all-out support for our Senate bid during a caucus held in Orani, Bataan.
Led by former Municipal Agriculture and Fisheries Council (MAFC) Chair Rose Dato of Orani, the MAFC Chairpersons and LFTs said they pin their hopes on my victory to save them from anti-agriculture and pro-importation policies of government.
Among the issues they raised were the Rice Tariffication Law, lack of water for irrigation, high prices of farm inputs and lack of market access and post harvest facilities.
It was a touching gesture from the farmers which I reciprocated with a pledge to come back to address their concerns.
Dato said that the MAFCs and LFTs will give their full support only to candidates who pledged support for the farming sector.
“Sa eleksyon na ito, ipapakita namin ang lakas ng sektor ng Agrikultura sa pagpili ng mga lider na tutulong sa amin,” the farmers said
