Homecoming! Iloilo City Mayor, VMayor Pledge All-Out Support

It was a touching and heartwarming moment for me when both the Mayor and Vice Mayor of Iloilo City welcomed me like a brother who was coming home from a long journey.

While I had known Mayor Jerry P. Treñas when he was still Congressman, I was deeply moved by the warm brotherly welcome he, along with other officials of the city, including his son, gave me yesterday.

During my visit to his office Mayor Treñas pledged his all-out support for my advocacies in governance and agriculture.

While both my Tatay Narding and Nanay Pining came from the rural towns of Dingle, Janiuay and Mina, they went to college in Iloilo City where they finished teaching courses.

Mayor Treñas was also joined by Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon, son of the late Senator Rodolfo Ganzon in expressing support for my Senate bid.

“While we are in the city, your advocacies in agriculture and food sufficiency will greatly benefit us,” Mayor Treñas said.

Vice Mayor Ganzon later invited me to lunch in a local restaurant where he also introduced me to other civic and religious leaders.

“Ikaw man lang ang Ilonggo nga gadalagan pagka-Senador karon. All-out support gid kami sa imo,” Mayor Treñas said.

“Bugal namon mga may Ilonggo nga Senador nga mapalapitan namon sa ulihi ” Vice Mayor Ganzon said.
