PRESIDENT AQUINO ORDERS PROBE OF DULAY KILLING

President Benigno S. Aquino III has informed the family of slain Kabacan Vice Mayor Policronio Dulay that he has ordered a deeper probe into the murder last Friday of the Liberal Party candidate.
In a text message sent to me tonight, President Noynoy said he was personally working on the investigation to give justice to the family of Pol Dulay.
The President’s text was in response to a text message I sent him following my visit to the wake of the slain vice mayor tonight where I expressed the appeal of Vice Mayor Dulay’s family for President Noynoy’s help.
The President’s immediate response to my text message was deeply appreciated by the family of the slain LP candidate who was running for his third term as vice mayor of the university town of Kabacan.
Dulay, who was highly respected in the town of Kabacan, was shot by a still unidentified assailant at about 2:30 p.m. along USM Avenue.
Contrary to my earlier post that he was shot in the head, a subsequent medico-legal examination showed that he was shot once in the body, the bullet apparently piercing his heart.
There is no information as of yet on the identity of the assailant and no motive has been established.
The family, however, suspects that the killing of Vice Mayor Dulay is related to politics.
My earlier report that Dulay was running unopposed was also inaccurate as a check with the office of the Commission on Election showed that there was another person who filed a certificate of candidacy for vice mayor of the town.
The concern shown by the President is expected by the family to speed up the solution of the killing of Vice Mayor Dulay, one of the many killings in the town of Kabacan.
