The brief visit to the Peace Forum of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front in Dungos, Tulunan earlier today (Dec. 6) opened the lines of communications between me and some top leaders of the rebel organization.
In this picture, I am shown with Boy Hashim, Dr. Benjie Dumato who heads the Committee on Revenue Generation and Wealth Sharing, and several members of the MILF Central Committee.
I particularly relish the statement of an MILF Commander, who greeted me as I entered the Forum area which was cordoned by hundreds of fully-armed MILF warriors who described me as: “Nya Ba Su Mategas Na Mama.” (Here is the Tough Man.”
It was a statement which showed respect to a man who stood by and fought for his principles.
I was humbled by that statement.
