Discovering The Beauty & Bounty Of The Country!

As I conceptualize the format and central message of the Agriculture Program which I am expected to host on National Television, I looked back to the days when I moved around the country to reach out to people in the remotest areas of the country and discover what these areas could offer.
“Biyaheng Bukid” brought me to almost all parts of the country as Secretary of Agriculture engaging farmers and fisherfolk and listening to their voices long unheard by officials in the corridors of power.
As Chairman of the Mindanao Development Authority, the small regional agency which I handled following my resignation as Secretary of Agriculture, I designed the documentary program called “Beauty and Bounty of Mindanao.”
Both programs gave me a more profound understanding of the problems of the country in facing the problem of food security and helped me discover the potentials.
I am thinking of designing the forthcoming TV Program as a combination of “Biyaheng Bukid” and the “Beauty and Bounty of Mindanao.”
