Filipino Ingenuity! Bio-Degradable, Plantable Vegetable Seedling Trays

Necessity is the Mother of Invention, add to that Innovation.
A Bio-degradable, Plantable and Organic seed tray made out of farm wastes will be introduced in our Soybeans and vegetable farming program.
Made by Ana’s Breeder Farm, one of the biggest and most modern poultry farm and processing facilities in Davao City, the Bio-Degradable & Plantable Organic Seed Trays is the latest innovation in modern agriculture.
Actually, it was ABFI President Jonathan Suy who introduced the BPO seed trays to me as early as last year.
I did not find a use for it until I started to notice that we have many missing hills in our Soybeans fields.
I implemented Catch-Up Seeding but the problem was the huge growth gap between the new seeds and the already growing Soybeans.
So, I thought of a system where while we plant Soybean seeds in the field, we will also sow “reserve” seeds in the trays to fill the missing hills in the field.
The BPO seed tray offers the best set up because we do not have to take out the seedlings for the trays to be replanted in the field.
All that is needed is just to cut the seed cup from the tray and plant it in the missing hills.
This will avoid transplanting stress and since the trays are made out of chicken.wastes, these would serve as Organic Fertilizer.
