Town Named Cauayan! Negros Occ. Town Leads Giant Bamboo Industry

Yesterday, I took a short flight from Davao City to Bacolod for a meeting today with a young Mayor from Cauayan, Negros Occidental.
Mayor John Ray Tabujara would like his town to live up to its name, Cauayan or Bamboo.
He wants to turn his town into the Giant Bamboo Capital of Negros Island which is composed of two provinces, Oriental and Occidental.
Mayor Tabujara really exerted efforts to be able to get in touch with me through a common friend, one of the country’s top gamefowl breeders, Lancy dela Torre.
So, today we will have breakfast in Lancy’s farm where I will brief him on what needs to be done to turn Cauayan into a town with a major agricultural industry, the planting, processing and marketing of Kawayan.
