Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. who is in Rome today, sent me a snapshot he took of the gallery of former Chairpersons of the Biennial Session of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (UN-FAO) which showed me wearing Barong Tagalog.
I served as Chairperson of the UN-FAO Biennial Session from 2017 to 2019 becoming the first and only Filipino Agriculture Secretary to be elected to the post.
In the photo shoot for the gallery, I chose to wear the Barong Tagalog because I believed it was one proud moment for me and for the country to preside over the highest policy making body for Agriculture of the world.
From the farms of Cotabato to the halls of UN FAO in Rome, an incredible experience I will forever treasure.
With God’s grace, nothing is impossible!
Thank you Sec Kiko for the photo.
