After 6 days! Mindanao Giant Bamboo Now Finally In Bicolandia

After six long days, the first batch of 5,000 Mindanao Giant Bamboo planting materials have finally reached Naga City in the Bicol Region early today.

The photos sent by my friend, Dr. Boying Llorin who will handle the distribution of the Giant Bamboos, showed that the plants were stressed by the long travel and may need to be rested for about one week before these could be released.

These would be distributed for free as part of my Green Philippines Advocacy which calls for the planting of Bamboos, fruit trees and endemic tree species in the deforested areas of the country.

Another friend, Jun Alba, has offered his cargo trucks for free to transport the planting materials.

As I had advised Dr. Llorin, individual farmers may be given up to 5 seedlings which would serve as Mother Bamboos which would serve as sources of propagules for future expansion.
