Out of the two dozen original hens which we bred last year, we have already produced almost 200 young pullets, most of which come with black shiny feathers while the others come red feathered.
We intend to raise about 1,000 breeders before the end of this year so that by December 2014, Braveheart Farms could produce as much as 15,000 heads of “Manok PiNoy” which would be ready for the market.
It’s a long and tough road ahead before we achieve the goal of establishing “Manok PiNoy” as a new breed of free-ranged backyard chicken raised and grown with natural and chemical-free feeds but it is worth every drop of sweat.
