Going Back To Where The Dreams Started!

Yesterday, five days before my 70th birthday, I launched the Mlang Integrated Farming System which aims to introduce new crops with ready market to farmers in the Upland Villages.
Mlang, one of the 18 towns and city of North Cotabato, is my birthplace. This was the place my grandparents, both farmers, and parents, who were public school teachers, settled in from Iloilo and Leyte.
It was in this place where I first saw and experienced the hardships faced by farmers.
The realization that so much was needed to improve farmers’ lives made me dream and I chased that dream.
I learned so much along the paths of life that I traveled.
Today, as I face the sunset years of my life, I am going back to the place where the dreams started.
The Mlang Integrated Farming System introduces Sorghum, Soybeans, Onion, Garlic and the raising of small ruminants, including Free-Range Chicken.
The farmers will be assisted by private groups who support my advocacies.
Technology will be shared with the farmers and most of all, there will be a ready buyer for their produce.
This is what I had dreamed for farmers of the whole country which I was not able to fully realize.
