Green Philippines! 2,000 Giant Bamboos Given To Every Philippine Province

Every province in the Philippines, with the exception perhaps of Batanes which is too far north and where Bamboos would not likely grow, will be allocated 2,000 planting materials of the Giant Bamboo and at least 100 grafted seedlings of the EVIARC Abuyog Sweet Jackfruit.
This is part of my Green Philippines Advocacy which aims to introduce Bamboos, fruit trees and other industrial trees with economic value as part of the “hybrid reforestation” approach.
The Giant Bamboo, for example, could start a Bamboo processing industry to produce engineered bamboo housing and construction materials and furniture.
The local government units of Mindanao have started claiming their allocation of 2,000 Giant Bamboo planting materials from my farm since two weeks ago.
At least five of the 29 provinces of Mindanao have already retrieved their share of the planting materials which I am sharing for free with the help of the Mindanao Development Authority.
When I was Chairman of MinDA, the Green Mindanao Project was launched to introduce a “hybrid reforestation” scheme which introduces the planting of Bamboo, fruit trees and industrial trees, along with endemic trees in the bald mountains and highlands.
I have embraced this program as a personal advocacy following my resignation from MinDA and I have expanded its coverage all over the country allocating initially 1,000 planting materials per province.
The enthusiasm shown by the Governors and Mayors, including non-government organizations, in embracing the program made me decide to increase the allocation to 2,000 per province.
Although I am willing to give out the seedlings for free, German Panghulan and Gabriel Ang offered P100 for each of the seedlings they received na tulong daw nila sa aking kandidatura pagka-Senador at para din ma-cover ang panggastos sa nursery operations at delivery.
Next month, I will ship 2,000 GB planting materials each to the island provinces of Basilan, Sulu and Tawitawi where bamboo poles are needed for aquaculture and mariculture projects.

(I personally shot this video yesterday when the province of Agusan del Sur claimed their Giant Bamboo allocation of 2,000 plus 100 seedlings of Abuyog Sweet Jackfruit from my farm in Barangay Paco, Kidapawan City.)
