I, Farm Boy! BACK TO MY OLD LOVE: BREEDING DAIRY GOATS

I am back to my old passion now – breeding chicken, both meat and gamefowl, and goats, both for dairy and meat.
My new task as Chairman of the Mindanao Development Authority has allowed me more time in my farm, especially with the Work-From-Home policy which most Davao City-based offices have implemented.
I have increased my Manok Pinoy population to over 10,000 at any given time and now I am increasing the population of the dairy goats.
Tonight, a shipment of Anglo Nubian and La Mancha Dairy goats will be arriving in a huge crate from Oregon, USA.
These are top notch breeds – 6M Galaxy and Goldtwaithe for the Anglo Nubians and Rockin’ CB and Lucky Star for the La Manchas.
Those who are into Dairy Goat farming would know the quality of these breeds.
They are not mine, though.
A friend, whom.I will not identify because I have not sought his permission, is investing in dairy goat farming.
Since he does not know much about dairy goat farming, he asked me if I could breed the goats until he has gathered enough knowledge to.start his own farm.
Since the incentive is enticing, I will get a share of the kids produced and I really love goat raising, I agreed.
The herd will be 120 heada to be shipped in three batches and I chose the best breeds.
Since the first shipment will be coming in today, I had to empty my pens and set my own goats in the free range.
The new goats will be quarantined under the supervision of the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) of the Dept. of Agriculture.
They will be tested befire they could be bred.
Next year, the farm will reveberate the goats’ bleats and the supply of quality goat’s milk and breeding materials will be aplenty.
