Breeding chicken or animals in the farm is not just simple agriculture but a work of art, as well.
This is my answer to questions fielded by some followers of this page kung bakit daw ayaw ko ng straightcombed na manok.
The reason why I am.biased towards producing peacomb chicken is because I would like towards Oriental-looking fowls.
Since I have already achieved my objectives as a farmer to develop a strain of chicken for meat and eggs which could be raised in the free range, I could move on to focus on the phenotypal characteristics of my breed.
The Manok Pinoy, in my breeders should not only have outstanding body and egg-laying, but should also be beautiful.
So, for Manok Pinoy, my standards for the color is Black, Red and occassional Blues.
For the other strain that I am developing the “Kanawayon,” they should come out light grey to off-white.
Everytime, the chicks come in the appearance I wanted them to be, I feel fulfilment and joy as a farmer and an artist.
It makes me appreciate the power of the ordinary farmer being able to produce and create a work of art.
