When I was a young boy growing up in the farm, I saw how my grandfather fed his working Carabaos with ‘Langka’ leaves as a reward after a hard day’s work.
Lolo Jose loved his working Carabaos and he would scrub them as they bathed in the river.
Lolo’s Carabaos loved Jackfruit leaves and I remembered that as the boys in the farm pruned our Abuyog Sweet Langka.
I asked them to gather the pruned branches and twigs with leaves and give these to the goats.
The scene etched in my mind since I was a young boy came rushing back.
I saw happy animals feasting on Langka leaves just like my Lolo Jose’s Carabaos.
Some farm realities never change.
