I, Farm Boy! Meet Hercules, Boer Buck!

A little over two years ago, I acquired a trio of Boer goats from an American friend, Vickie Mahone Geddes, of Tehachapi, California because I wanted to breed outstanding goats again.
In goat breeding, I have always embraced the philosophy that a good herd starts with good foundation genetics.
In 2006, my Boer buck, Rocky, was adjudged National Champion Boer Buck in the NGSCP Show in Cagayan de Oro.
His two offsprings, a young buck and a young doe, also won as Champion in their categories.
Going back to goat breeding, I wanted to start with outstanding breeding materials so I reached out to a longtime friend, Vickie Mahone Geddes who owns a Boer Goat Farm in the mountains of Tehachapi, California.
Vickie sent me a young buck, registered in the American Boer Goat Association as Tehachapi Hercules, and two young does named Athena and Helen.
Today, Hercules is a full-grown Buck and the change in our feeding program from cut and carry forage to Sorghum silage mixed with feed concentrates had really developed his body.
Now the herd sire in the farm, Hercules has already given me a good looking young buck which I know would be as muscular and handsome as his father.
This is the secret of a good breeding program – start with the right genetics and you will never produce a garbage.
Thank you @Vickie Mahone Geddes.
