For so long now I have been advocating for the total utilization of every available space in the farms to attain utmost productivity.
Of course, everything that is planted in the vacant spaces must have a specific purpose and use.
In my farm for example, I have rubber trees intercropped with Lanzones, coconuts, Oil Palm, Malunggay, Abaca and lately, Jackfruits.
I have left natural growing trees untouched while I have directed the farm boys not to use herbicides allowing beneficial shrubs, vines and plants to grow.
There are wild bittergourds, nettles and Saluyot in the upland portion of the farm while I have Kangkong near the ponds.
Since I raise goats, I have also planted high-protein shrubs.
Among the high-protein leafy plants that I am propagating now is the Trichantera or Madre de Agua.
If you would like to grow a sturdy high-protein plant which grows well in shaded areas, Trichantera is the best choice.
It has a Crude Protein Content of 23% and is relatively easy to plant.
Pigs, goats and even chicken love the leaves of this versatile plant.
I am recommending this plant to farmers and those who would like some planting materials could just message me for cuttings.
