I have started formulating feeds for my Manok Pinoy free-range chicken using mainly local feed materials like corn, Sorghum, copra meal, rice bran and oyster shells.
We are adding a new ingredient – processed Ulva seaweeds instead of fish meal.
We introduced the locally formulated feeds gradually last week for chicks starting at month-old.
Today, all Manok Pinoy in the range are already fed with our local feed formulation which does not contain synthetic ingredients or anti-biotics.
The feed formulation was shared to me by an animal nutrition expert of CP Foods Philippines based on my request for natural feeds for my chicken.
The farm boys observed that the chickens have adapted to the new feed formulation.
So today, we only use commercial feeds for newlt-hatched chicks as starters.
(I took this video of one of the Manok Pinoy yards this morning in my farm.)
