I, Farm Boy! Properly Prepared Silage Assures 1-Yr Feed Supply

Following the lessons I learned on ruminants feeding from an expert, I have started preparing Sorghum Silage which would assure us of a 1-year supply of feeds for our goats.
The proper Silaging technique taught by former OFW Arnel Corpuz has been adapted in my farm by chopping Sorghum stalks and leaves and keeping these in Silage bags.
These Silage in bags could be kept up to five years, according to Arnel.
This system will also cut down our expenses in the farm since the Sorghum stalks and leaves are just farm wastes which we gather from a fellow farmers field after harvest.
With this Silage, my farm workers would no longer have to use our truck to gather forage for goat feeds.
Two weeks from now, when the first bagged Silage matures, all that the boys need to do is open one bag of 100 kilos of Silage, add concentrates worth P500 and feed the goats.
Ang laking ginhawa at menos gastos simply because we learned from an expert who had fattened about half-a-million cattle in Australia and here in Polomolok, South Cotabato.

(This video which I took shows my son, Imman, thumping on the silage in the bag to compress it. Imman is taking up Veterinary Medicine next school year.)
