I understand that in times of crisis, we could get confused and lose focus.
The worst mistake leaders could commit in times of calamity is to start embracing victims and crying with them because this is when they lose the ability to objectively assess the problem.
I am requesting our local leaders not to be drawn into the chaos and maintain a clear mind and stay on top.
In this situation, there are some needs by our people that could be provided locally.
Kidapawan City residents for example are asking for water and I read one report that the drinking water will come from Davao.
But there are local sources of safe drinking water.
I have three sources of water in my farm – two deep wells and one flowing spring. Draw as much water as you need, it’s free!
All that the City LGU needs to do is clean the water tanks of the city fire trucks, draw water from my spring and two deep wells and distribute the water to the residents.
I am sure there are other sources of safe drinking water in Kidapawan aside from mine.
Hwag natin iasa sa mga tumutulong ang mga bagay na kaya naman natin makuha locally.
