The other family of the Manok PiNoy is a black line which has predominantly dark legs with occasional black yellow which appears when the pullets have yellowish hackle.
The black and the red lines actually just appeared in the series of breeding experiments I made. What I did was to breed the black and dark red together to produce the ‘Maitum’ family and did the same to those which came out red to produce the ‘Mariga” line.
I will continue breeding black to black and red to red and down the line cross-breed them to produce a hybrid of the Manok PiNoy using two closely related but distinct families.
