A netizen suggests: AFP CONTAINMENT BATTALION FOR HUMAN, ANIMAL EPIDEMIC

Whenever I go through the comments on the posts I make in this page, I am endlessly amazed by the briiliant ideas coming from ordinary Filipinos.

More often than not, however, most of these suggestions which could contribute to effective governance are unheard and unnoticed.

Thus, they remain just that – ideas.

Here is one brilliant idea coming from Nerio Cloma, a follower of this page.

Cloma suggests that in the face of outbreaks of human diseases like COVID 19 and animal diseases like Bird Flu and African Swine Fever, government must organize a Disease Containment Battalion in the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

The Containment Battalion must also be trained in handling toxic wastes, nuclear accidents and other hazardous materials, Cloma said.

This is an idea which must be seriously looked into by our government given our handling of the COVID 19 Pandemic.

As it is now, police and military personnel and even government civilian workers who are totally clueless on the nature of COVID 19 are assigned to man quanrantine posts and implement regulations and policies.

Soldiers and policemen who are trained in disease containment protocols would greatly help the country in handling human and animal disease outbreaks.
