In today’s edition of our weekly radio program, Ang Totoong Magsasaka, a Filipino-American farmer in Southern California talks about his experience with Hass Avocado farming.
The program airs live on DXND from 12 noon to 1 p.m. with live streaming and FB live coverage through the Mindanao Development Authority Facebook page.
Eduardo Panes, a retired naval architect and former Boeing Corp. worker who now resides in Chula Vista, CA, planted Hass Avocado in his farm for 15 years before giving it up because of the lack of workers from Mexico and also because of the restrictions on movement due to COVID 19 pandemic.
He, however, believes that Hass Avocado farming is the right industry at the right time for the Philippines and he will explain why during our program today.
Another topic that we will discuss today will be common poultry diseases in the Philippines and how to address this as part of our advocacy for the Mindanao Backyard Chicken Farming Program.
Veteran poultry man Dr. Jeffrey Salvatierra will be our resource person.
Both will be joining the program via ZOOM at 12 noon to 1 p.m. today.
