When I launch the nationwide journey to meet up with farmers, fishermen and rural people next week, I will give out packets of Moringa seeds and a few Giant Bamboo seedlings.
In every village that I will visit, from Mindanao to Visayas and Luzon, I will ask local people to plant the Giant Bamboo and the Moringa Seeds to serve as Mother Trees and source of planting materials in the future.
The Moringa Seeds were donated by my friend and relative, Filipino-American Rocky French, who grows Indian Moringa in his farm in Thermal City, Southern California.
The Giant Bamboo seedlings come from my nursery in Kidapawan City grown from propagules supplied by Myrna Decipulo of Malaybalay, Bukidnon.
This is also a testament of my commitment to the advocacy of Maximum Utilization of our land in the country.
I already did this when I was Secretary of Agriculture and Chairman of the Mindanao Developmeny Authority (MinDA).
