The Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) initiative to build two new Agriculture-based industries in Mindanao, Hass Avocado and Sweet Jackfruit, will take off with a convention where key players will meet face-to-face and the other stakeholders could join via ZOOM.
The 1st Mindanao Convention on Avocado and Jackfruit Industry Development will be held on May 17, 2021, shortly after the Ramadan to allow Muslim farmers and stakeholders in Mindanao to fully participate.
MinDA Asst. Secretary Cherry Akbar-Santos, head of the Mindanao Avocado and Jackfruit Organizing Council (MAJOR Council) said the Convention will start at 9 a.m. and virtual participants could join through ZOOM ID 840-400-58139 with Password No. 413275.
Invited to join the Convention are Mindanao farmers whose farms are located in areas with elevation of 600-Meters Above Sea Level for Avocado, plant propagators, funders like Land Bank of the Philippines and Development Bank of the Philippines and off-takers or buyers.
Farmers and other stakeholders from outside Mindanao who are interested in these two new industries could also access the ZOOM link to listen in.
