Mati City, Davao Oriental – I took a quick trip to Don Salvador Lopez, Davao Oriental for the groundbreaking today of the second 2,400-sow level hog breeder farm of CP Foods Philippines and their local partner, Orcas Agrifishing Corp.
The trip to this beautiful province facing the Pacific Ocean would not be complete without a “take home” of the famous Pandawan dried fish.
The Pandawan is a huge fish which fishermen slice up and dry while still out at sea and is not salty, making it a favorite delicacy.
Today, the price was quite high – P250 per kilo and one Pandawan dried fish weighs 2 kilos.
I know it is much more expensive elsewhere which is why this dried fish is a must “pasalubong.”
Visit Mati and explore its Beauty and Bounty.
