A day after the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) led the launching of the Balik Probinsya Program in Lanao del Norte, the working staff is now in Cagayan de Oro City to lay out the plan for the first ever LGU-owned Corn Grains Silo Storage System.
Baungon Mayor Giovannie Dahino, officials of the town, farmer leaders and technical persons will craft the town’s Corn Silo Storage program aimed at supporting corn farmers and protecting them from price manipulation.
MinDA is organizing and facilitating the workshop the result of which will be submitted to the Development Bank of the Philippines for funding.
When implemented, Baungon will be the first town all over the country to establish an Economic Enterprise aimed at addressing issues in the corn industry.
The program is expected to protect the farmers, boost production and earn revenues for the LGU.
