The French-Filipino couple who left a life of luxury in France in 2013 to help Yolanda victims in Leyte will visit the areas in Mindanao affected by the earthquake to deliver 40 metric tons of premium rice on Wednesday.
Patrick Renucci and his wife, Rachel Tan, will turn over to the earthquake victims through the municipal governments 800 bags of Dinorado premium rice produced by Leyte farmers and processed in the Chen-Yi Agri-Ventures Processing Complex in Alang-Alang, Leyte.
The Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) facilitated the ceremonial distribution of the rice donation through the support of Asst. Secretary Dr. Sailila Abdula of the Dept. of Agriculture.
Patrick and Rachel gave up a comfortable life in France to help rebuild the areas ravaged by Super Typhoon Yolanda in 2013.
They decided to establish a P1.8-B rice processing complex in Alang-Alang, Leyte and assisted local rice farmers in producing premium quality rice.
The Renucci Rice is now considered as one of the top premium quality rice in the world.
The Renucci couple has committed to help rice farmers in the country and was personslly commended by President Rody Duterte during his visit to Leyte earlier this year.
