‘God helps those…’ Let’s Help ‘Pakwan’ Farmers Muslim BBQ Stick Makers

In these times when so many expect government to provide for everything that they need, it is very inspiring to know that there still those who choose not to beg.
Yesterday, I saw a post by Agriculture Asst. Sec for the Bangsamoro Area, Dr. Sailila Abdula, looking for interested buyers of bamboo BBQ sticks produced by Muslim Maguindanao families in Patadon, Matalam.
These BBQ stick makers have been supplying restaurants and eateries selling chicken barbecue.
The lockdowns, however, have prevented them from selling their products.
I bought P7,712-worth of sticks just to help them earn so they could buy food.
They still have about P50,000 worth of sticks and it would really help them if those who would need the sticks after the lockdowns could buy from them now.
Earlier, a group of rice farmers in Barangay Inas, Mlang, my hometown sought my help in selling their watermelons.
Rice farmers in many towns of North Cotabato plant watermelon in between rice planting seasons.
Other watermelon farmers in Tulunan town will also be harvesting this month.
I am calling on kind-hearted individuals to help the Muslim BBQ stick makers and the ‘Pakwa’ farmers by buying their produce.
These are the kind of people who deserve our help and support.
At least, itong mga tao na ito nagbabanat ng buto para kumita.
Hindi ito yong mga taong may supply na na bigas, sardinas at manok ay nagrereklamo pa at dapat daw ay may karne naman para di nakakaumay.
Halikayo, tulong-tulong tayo. Bilhin natin produkto nila.
