Going on now! MINDANAO ELECTRIC COOPS MEET FOR POWER ISSUES

Kidapawan City – The Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) today convened the Electric Cooperatives of Mindanao to address power issues in the region.

National Electrification Administration (NEA) Administrator Edgar Masongsong and three Party-List Congressmen representing the power sector and Chairmen of Mindanao Electric Cooperatives have joined the hybrid face-to-face and ZOOM Conference.

Among the issues to be discussed are:

– Frequent brown-outs;

– Reliability of power supply;

– Very Low Service connections of 35% in the BARMM;

– Non-payment by cooperatives of power supplies.

Also tabled is a long-term Mindanao Power Supply Plan to prepare for the fast economic growth of Mindanao.
