On Good Friday, a Good Samaritan has committed to buy P30,000-worth of BBQ sticks made by poor Maguindanao families in Patadon, Matalam, Cotabato.
That leaves us with about P20,000-worth of BBQ sticks still to be sold.
Last week Agriculture Asst. Sec. for the Bangsamoro, Dr. Sailila Abdula, posted on his Facebook page an appeal for kind-hearted individuals to help Muslim BBQ stick makers from his village by buying their products so they could buy food.
The Muslim BBQ stick makers failed to sell their produce because of the COVID 19 Loockdowns.
I decided to buy P7,712-worth which I will just keep until after the COVID 19 lockdown.
At the same time, I also appealed for help from friends.
This morning, an old friend from way, way back offered to buy P30,000 worth of BBQ sticks but he prefers to remain anonymous.
Just like me, he does not have an immediate use for it but he is buying to help.
May naiwan pa na P20,000-worth.
Let’s help these families. At least sila, hindi umaasa sa gobyerno at magbabanat ng buto para makabili ng pagkain.
Ito ang mga taong dapat tinitulungan.
