A Boeing 727 Cargo Plane loaded with about 20 tons of fresh fruits from Mindanao will fly in today to resupply the MinDA Tienda in Manila on its second day.
Shortly after Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso opened the 3-day MinDA Tienda yesterday, the first shipment of fruits, including export-quality Durian, Lanzones, Mangosteen, Papaya and Pineapple were literally wiped off the display tables by buyers.
Anticipating the great demand for fresh fruits during the 3-day event, I met with the Chief Executive Officer of PSI Air Cargo, Amir Moagaddashi, Thursday night to arrange the shipment by air.
The fresh supply of fruits will arrive before noontime today and will be displayed at the MinDA Tienda venue beside the Manila City in the afternoon.
At least 20 tons Durian, Marang, Mangosteen and Lanzones will be brought in today.
Today’s initial air shipment of goods for the MinDA Tienda will mark the start of our collaboration with PSI Air which will enable Mindanao’s farmers and fishermen to bring their produce to the farthest areas of the country.
Now, we have wings. We can fly to you.
