IF HOLLY’S BARRY IS ‘DALMATIAN,’ HOW DO YOU CALL LAZY I LEGACY?

I was amused with the reaction of the followers of this page to the photo of our prized goat, a buck named Six M Galaxy Holly’s Barry, who was described in many comments as a “Dalmatian.”

The Anglo Nubian breed of goats, which historically was developed from a goat line with floppy ears from East Asia and an English goat breed, comes in different colors.

The Anglo-Nubians could be predominantly black, brown and grey with splashes of other colors.

But there is a line which comes with white spots all over their bodies and this is the distinctive feature of the Six M Galaxy Anglo Nubians.

The Six M Galaxy goats are what is known as the Rolls Royce of American Anglo Nubians developed by the McClure family of California.

The Six M Galaxy genetics are tightly-kept with the goats of the McClure’s only going to some people who are friends to the family or those who gained their fondness.

Jim Clem and I, when we started the small goat farm in a piece of land owned by Jim and his family in Klamath Falls, agreed that we will only breed two lines of Anglo Nubians.

And these are Six M Galaxy and Goldthwaithe lines, the latter developed by Becky Goldthwaithe of Wyoming, USA.

So, when we established the farm, we both followed the trail of people who got the Six M Galaxy goats and an American lady who owns a dairy farm in the boundary of Oregon and California led us to the McClure farm.

I was also able to acquire several pure Six M Galaxy goats from the Israel family in California through Jen Israel, a very kind woman who shared with me several heads, including Lazy I 6MG Legacy whose picture I am posting here.

Legacy’s spots are bigger than that of Barry’s and that actually makes him more fascinating.

Here is Legacy’s pedigree as provided by the American Dairy Goat Association: http://www.adgagenetics.org/GoatDetail.aspx…

With these two outstanding bucks, the goats which I and Jim hope to ship to the Philippines for Filipino goat breeders, we expect to be able to contribute to the improvement of the dairy goat industry in the country.
