Mindanao Governors and Mayors, along with their key officials, will attend the second session today of the Online Course on Water Management and Conservation conducted by the MASHAV, Israel’s International Development Agency.
A 2-hour weekly short course on Water Management and Conservation for Mindanao Governors and Mayors will start 6 p.m. today, Aug. 24.
The webinar on Water Conservation and Management: The Israeli Model is a joint project of the Mashav of Israel, the Israeli Embassy in the Philippines and the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA).
It was requested by MinDA as part of its advocacy to increase awareness of local leaders of Mindanao on the importance of water conservation and management for sustainable agriculture and economic growth.
The on-line lectures started Aug. 17 and will continue today, Aug. 24, Aug. 31, Sept. 14 and Oct. 12 with Israeli water experts as lecturers..
At 6 p.m. today, Uri Shor, Head of Education, Campaigns and Information Dept., Israel Water Authority will present “Water Conservation: From Awareness to Action – The Israeli Experience.”
At 7 p.m, Dr. Lior Asaf, MASHAV Water Expert will lecture on “Sustainable Water Management for Agriculture.”
Several Mindanao Governors and Mayors and their key officials have enrolled in the program as part of MinDA’s advocacy to promote water conservation and management in Mindanao both for potable water production and irrigation.
