Makilala and Tulunan! 2 EARTHQUAKE-HIT TOWNS GET SOLAR WATER SYSTEMS

Davao City – Two North Cotabato towns which were hardest hit by the series of earthquakes recently will each receive one unit of Solar-Powered Water System to provide drinking and irrigation water.
The Solar-Powered Water Systems will be established in the towns of Makilala and Tulunan, both in North Cotabato, which faced water supply problems following the earthquakes.
The two Solar-Powered Potable and Irrigation Water Systems were donated by the Yangzhou Yatai Hydro Equipment Company of China to the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA).
The two water systems were offered by Yangzhou Yatai to MinDA as demonstration units as the company expressed intent to participate in the MinDA Water Program to be launched on Dec. 6.
Makilala Mayor Armando Quibod and Tulunan Mayor Pip Limbungan have been asked to identify the proposed location of the water systems.
Engineers from MinDA and Yangzhou Yatai are scheduled to conduct engineering assessments of the proposed sites.
When operational, the Solar-Powered Water Systems will provide safe drinking water to the community while the excess water could be used for irrigation.
